Golf in Schools Pro Visit

Local PGA of Canada professionals and Community Golf Coaches visit schools in their area to build on the existing Golf in Schools programming being delivered. Elementary schools already have the full Golf in Schools equipment package, which includes plastic irons and putters, foam balls, cones, marker flags, putting cups, make-a-hoops, surface tees, and foot-tees. High schools have the full Golf in Schools equipment package, which includes irons and putters, hard foam balls, tees and hitting mats. Professionals can utilize the program materials to lead a lesson and or assist the teacher with the delivery of the program.

The Golf Professional Visitation Grant

In order to assist with the costs involved with visiting a school, Golf Canada will provide grants to PGA of Canada members. The $150 grant helps to offset any costs to the professional for his/her time in the classroom.  Money can be spent on initiatives such as transportation, cost of professional’s teaching time, prizes for the students, in addition to any other facets that the professional would believe to be beneficial for his/her time at the school. In order to receive the grant, PGA of Canada members must be at an active Future Links site and the school visited must be a registered Golf in Schools site.
