Girls Club was designed to provide a welcoming atmosphere in which girls can excel at developing their skills and interest in the sport with their female peers. Developed for girls aged 7–18, Girls Club hopes to bridge the gap between the high number of young boys playing golf in comparison to girls.
Keri Moffat, the Director of Instruction at Mayfair Lakes Golf Academy, shares her thoughts on the social aspects of the program. “We do crafts, have a pizza party and hopefully create an interest in the game” said Moffat. “The girls are usually newer golfers so I try and make the focus of the program on fun. They follow the rules more closely than the boys so it’s easier to keep up with the social aspects.” To learn more about the program, or find a participating site in your area, click here
