Each provincial association fields a team of talented juniors to receive advance training year-round, along with extensive competitive opportunities and the support to back them. Across the nation, provincial bodies are aligned with creating champions both on and off the golf course through their respective teams.
The provincial (and regional) teams will also act as a form of talent identification for Team Canada’s Development Squad. Once in the system, a provincial player can potentially advance to the Development Squad, the National Amateur Team and eventually even the Young Pro Squad.
The Team Ontario program places considerable emphasis on developing “champion traits” in all facets of life and particularly in those that most impact golf development. As such, athletes in the program will receive guidance on themes like time and self-management, strength and conditioning, sports psychology, nutrition, tactical strategies, and technical feedback.
Being selected to be part of the Team Ontario program is a tremendous accomplishment and offers unparalleled support and guidance to participating athletes and their families.
